plan-first-birthday-partyPlanning your child’s first birthday part is exciting! It can also be stressful if you are not sure what you want to do. Using these tips and ideas below can help you plan that first birthday without a hitch. Be sure you to take a deep breath and relax. This is a celebration of your child’s first birthday and the first of many to come. You can keep it low key or go all out. Check out these great ideas for getting your child’s party planned.

Guest List

Decide on who you want to come to this very special event. Do you want it to be mainly family or friends and family? By deciding on the guest list you can help decide how many items you need and how large you want the party to be. Some people go for an intimate setting with close friends and family for the first party. Some like to go larger and really go all out for the first birthday. Remember this is more for your memories as your child probably won’t remember a whole lot of it. If your child has a close friend they play with a lot then you may want to add them to the guest list.

Where To Have It And When

If you are having a small intimate gathering then you can have it your home or a restaurant for dinner. Another great location is the park nearby. That allows you to have more room and things for people to do. You can also have it at a local childs place such as your pizza parlor or something like it. Remember when having it out away from your home that you might want to consider the guest list. The more people you have the more you typically have to pay out. Also keep in mind the time of day you are having it. Try to work around nap times so your little one is up and ready to enjoy their party.

Theme

This can be a tricky one. It also might be the last one you get to pick the theme for. There are only a few years where you can influence the theme of your chlid’s party and this is it. Most people like to get all the first birthday party supplies to match in the same theme. There are some adorable first birthday themes out there. You can choose your child’s favorite character at the time or something that means something to the family. You can typically get them in your local party store or you can find more choices when you check out http://www.birthdayexpress.com.

Don’t Forget The Cake

Some bakeries around town offer an extra for your child’s first birthday. They will typically do the individual cake for free when they are cooking the larger cake for the party. Ask around to the local bakeries and see what you can find. Tell them it is for the first birthday and see what deals they offer. They can probably match your theme as well.

These are just a few tips to help you plan out that extra special first birthday. It is fun and exciting and will be a moment for you to treasure always.
